Jean Paul Gaultier re-enters the world of interior decor design for the first time in over 15 years with French furniture brand Roche Bobois. His last contribution to furniture construction was extremely well received in 1992 when he created Roman style thrones in collaboration with VIA. His inspiration for the design was his conception that, "It's a jungle in Paris. It's nature, ecology, plants—let's say, reality," Gaultier said to WWD, "is all about dressing; it's always about fashion." These Gaultier trademarks are prevalent and obvious in the makeover he concieved for the Elle Decoration suite in Paris, which has been previously re-designed by both Maison Martin Margiela and Christian Lacroix.
This experiment is just a preview of the new designs he'll be releasing this fall. Keep your eyes peeled for Monsieur Gaultier's new developments.
Linda Portman
I just recently discovered stylist Linda Portman's Blog on Tobacco & Leather. I'm especially taken with the hand painted b&w medium format prints.

MANIAMANIA: Dust
Tamilia Purvis and Melanie Kamsler's fabulous jewelry design label MANIA MANIA's newest collection, "DUST", draws it's inspiration from agroundbreaking and timeless icon, David Bowie. They were specifically inspired by this iconic photograph taken of Bowie by Brian Ward in 1969:
Their two part video lookbook stars model Bambi Northwood-Blyth and is directed by by Fiona McGee.
Falling somewhere between Cleopatra and Ziggy Stardust, and with music by Australian psych band The Black Ryder, these two short films gorgeously capture the aesthetic of MANIAMANIA as a brand.
